Apart from sharing opponents, Russia and China and sharing allies , America and others , Britain and Japan have very developed interests in each others cultures - much of benefit could be shared and exchanged in education , health and other benefits emanating from our respective cultures. Economic interests have been shared for some while now , but a closer relationship in transferring technologies, sharing research and acting as each others business “aircraft carrier”in our respective regions , would be of immense mutual benefit . Now is the time to get closer and not be shy - there are massively more benefits than disadvantages.
