Iran has ballistic missiles, demonstrated their capability and effectiveness to stretch defences in 2025 and this regime has a strong, historic antipathy to Britain, demonstrated through hostile actions. Britain’s Air Force can tackle drones and cruise missiles, its aircraft cannot defend against ballistic missiles. The Navy’s 6 Type 45 destroyers have a proven anti-ballistic missile capability. The Government says it began to pre-position Air assets over a month ago. There are three questions for UK MOD. RAF Akrotiri routinely hosts US Aircraft. Was intelligence and threat assessment of Iran’s intent faulty? Was the military advice offered to politicians for forward deployment of Britain’s sole credible anti-ballistic missile defence to the Eastern Mediterranean offered too late ie after Iran took wider retaliation or was it ignored?
